well folks, here is the finished quilt top...
It's a whopping 94"x103"! I need to make a back for it and I think I'm going to pay someone to quilt it. it will cost less than renting a long-arm quilter. Amy's RS Pres shared this guy's blog:

The bed skirt will be a brown damask print and I think I'll do something like this above my bed (but in brown or green) since I don't have a headboard:
