I thought I'd share my progress on my "12 Squared Sampler". My plan is to make a red, white and blue version of everyone's blocks and then put them all together at the end of the year.
They are a scrappy bunch of squares. Most of them are full of mistakes, mis-matched whites and crooked seams, but despite all that, I'm loving 'em!
P.S. Dear Robyn,
Don't worry, I did not forget to do yours! I wanted to make a practice version before I did one to send to you. And, you should be glad I got the extra practice because look at how poorly those seams match up! :)
xo,
Becca
LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be so fun!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI might have to redo that pinwheel one... it's pretty off. I can't figure out why the smaller squares didn't fit together to make one big square. I must have cut something the wrong way.
ReplyDeleteI cheated on mine to make it line up. I cut the kona into two 10" squares found the middle and cut it at a diagonal 1" off (like in the directions) sewed it together (like in the directions) and then trimmed off the excess... that probably makes no sense. That said, I think it looks good the way it is.
DeleteThis looks great. I love seeing them all together. And a sneak peek at another square for me! It really is like my birthday! Great work.
ReplyDeletei spy a little dutch love in there....and i still covet that granny square:) i'm inspired- lovely work!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Can't wait to see the finished product. That quilt will have summer picnic written all over it!
ReplyDeleteI love them all! Great idea.
ReplyDeleteBecca, these are wonderful! I have tried to make a square for myself from 12squared and TradingPieces (starting last year) with the same idea... except I didn't choose a color scheme. Yours is going to be so beautiful... mine will be, well, very eclectic at best! LOL!! LOVE yours!
