Dear Becca,

This was a learning experience for me for sure!  As you can see I'm a little bit "off".  I thought it was due to the template-the diamond was 5 inches by 5 1/2 inches but it wasn't until after I finished the quilt square and went back to the tutorial online that I realized  how entirely off I was!  I was following your tutorial on paper versus computer since my computer is not anywhere near my sewing machine so the blue lines weren't very visible on my tutorial.  I started sewing my polka dot fabric to the very top lines in the template.
I am happy to send this square to you but if you'd rather send me another template I would be more than happy to give it another try.  In fact, I'll make two to make up for the trouble.  I know what went wrong and I know I can do it just right next time.
This square was really a lot of fun to make!!
Love,
Camie

  1. Camie, I love the fabric! It reminds me of Wonder Bread, which I have always had an affinity for. Where did you find it? I am not worried about it being off. You don't need to do it again. I can't wait to get my hands on it!

I am a terrible tutorial writer. I knew there would be mistakes in my measurements and instructions, so I appreciate everyone muddling through! That's the risk I took when I did an obscure block. :)

  2. Becca, I am relieved! So glad you like the fabric. I found it in a fabric store while on vacation in St. George several years ago. I bought a ton of it and used it up quite easily... I just happened to have a 5 1/2 inch square in my scrap pile and was happy to see it.
You are not a terrible tutorial writer. I need a computer next to my sewing machine. That's it- I need a laptop!

  4. I am glad you picked a red envelope. It is so pretty/happy. Camie, I moved my whole house around so my computer is next to my sewing machine. Best decision ever!
