Cobblestones and Bricks

Hey Ladies!
I wanted to make it to the sewing get together tonight so bad and I wanted to have this posted by then but Joey had to stay later at school and you know how life goes...

Anyways hope y'all had a great time & maybe one day I'll get to one...
Here's this months tutorial:

You'll need 4 different colors of fabric (one of which you'll be getting in the mail and you can use it as a reference to gather coordinating fabric/scraps)

You'll then cut (3) 2 1/2 inch squares of fabric 1
and (2) 2 1/2'' x 6 1/2'' rectangles of fabric 1

 and (3) 2 1/2 inch square of fabric 2
(2) 2 1/2" x 6 1/2" rectangles of fabric 2

 Then you'll need (2) 2 1/2" squares of fabric 3
along with (2) 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" rectangles of fabric 3

& then (1) 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle of fabric 4 (the one I'm sending)

Sew together (1) 2 1/2" square of fabric 1 with (2) 2 1/2" square of fabric 2 (one on each side)
then take your 2 rectangles of fabric 2 and add to each side to make the cobblestone

Repeat vice versa to get the second cobblestone

Press seams open

Add the fabric 3 squares to the ends of your 2 1/2" x 8 1/2" rectangle
then sew the remaining rectangles on each side
 You should now have this:

Then sew it all together:

** You could put the striped material I'm sending in the middle of the cobblestones too. Have fun with it:) & thanks in advance!!!

  1. Rachel, Do you have any fabric preferences? Color preferences? Colors/prints to stay away from?

  2. not really I love all the colors in the striped fabric. The only thing is- I'd stay away from using the stripe (that I gave you) on any part but the centers. I tried to use it as an outline and that failed cause the lines don't match up... Other than that feel free to do it however:) Its for Avery- she picked it out:) She has really loved watching the different blocks get made. btw church was sad without y'all and knowing that you're not just out of town:(
