Nothing is worse then knowing you are behind and not even having a good excuse like making twins or having a newborn.
Good news is I'm not anymore.

they are in the mailbox!
Mardie, I hope you like it I really liked making this one and might have to do one for myself.
Camie, I have had this cut out ready to put together for EVER glad to have it ready for you!

Liz, again, I'm sooooo sorry! I've also had yours cut out and ready but was really nervous to put it together (not sure why) I like how it came together and I hope you like it.
and lastly, I have all the squares for July and am so excited how they all turned out and am just deciding the backing and then I'll put it together. THANK YOU ALL!!

July- We all scream for ICE CREAM

I had such a blast trying to figure out what to do for my month. I had all these fun ideas that I thought would have been great and then the practical side of me would take over and say, " where would I put that? or that wouldn't go with that room.."  silly right?  Then I had an idea that would be fun to do, not very time consuming for the fun filled summer months, and the practical side of me would be happy as well.

History for it goes like this:  I have three kids who don't look anything alike..seriously.  my first is a thick-haired-toe head, my second is a ringlety-red/strawberry/sherbert/gold-head, and then my third came out a dark-straight-thin head.  My aunt on seeing them said, "you have neopaliten kids",  I have called them that ever since.
(this was taken at a park today...my red heads hair is in braids so you can't see the curl..but sadly, this is one of the only pictures of them together taken recently. )

...soooo, I wanted to incorporate my kids in this quilt, being my first and all. and this is why the ice cream quilt was picked.

Everyone by now should have received a 'scoop' and 'cone' cut out.  (let me know if you didn't. Teriney I sent yours with your June square, hopefully its to you by now.)

My goal in this quilt is that my kids are represented as well as You. (feel free to tweak the scoops, they were really more of a measurment then anything)

1.  pick out a solid fabric (somethat that says 'you'), cut 14x14
2.  pick out a fabric that looks like a cone to you, use iron- heat transfer paper and then cut out three cones. please make the cone fabric all the same
(I cut out all my fabric and did the heat transfering at the same time..)
3. pick out material that represents vanilla, chocolate and strawberry, use iron- heat transfer paper and then cut out three of each (with each flavor you can choose the same fabric, or different as long as the 'flavor' is being represented)

4.  decide your placement and then heat transfer your cones on the 14x14 fabric, and then do the same with the scoops. please leave a 1 inch boarder around the 14x14 fabric
You can choose how you want them stacked as long as each cone has three scoops on it
example- 3 chocolate on one cone....one vanilla and two strawberries on one cone...etc.

5. stitch around the cone edges, and the individual scoop edges

Thats it!!
Any questions please let me know.(sorry if it's over- explained..its my first tutorial) and again, I want this to be fun and a way to show who you are in your square.
Thank You
I can't wait to see what you come up with.
ps. my address is different from the list emailed originally. It is now 110 raft island dr nw, Gig Harbor, WA 98335

this ones for the birds

Flying your way Teriney,

I send this to you with mixed emotions. the first of the 9 squares I think I had beginers luck and I flew threw it....the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh I had to do over a two week period because I was spending more time with the seam ripper then with my husbad :). I faced the wind tonight and it finally clicked how I am really supose to do pattern piecing (I think It took a little more math then my mom brain knew, but remembered), but the last two squares I LOVED doing and so here is my portion on its way to you right now.

(sorry, for some reason I can't rotate this little guy)

 much love- Sarah

Becca's mail

I finally got the picture off my phone. I LOVED making this one. I (again) was a little scared to try it but I loved it and loved how it turned out. this material said 'Becca' to me...or maybe Henry??  :)  Hope you like it!
It's a dark blue envelope the picture makes it look black.

I had to put an upclose of this guy, I just think he's cute

excuses and apologies

I have to first apologize to Becca...I haven't sent your square to you yet! I'm SORRY. it is coming. and then I never posted my January squares...I'm a little nervous to do it since this is my first quilting thing ever.

Here are January's squares.

I haven't been sewing anything lately but this is what I have been up to:

These were for a stake relief society conference...250 sugar cookies to be made into cookie bouquets

and we moved into our house in February and the next day my husband took down a wall (not the smartest planning, but now that it is almost done I'm really glad he did it.) and started revamping our living room....
before
welcome to our living room.... ugh
 almost done....
and I finish the last part of the room today :) wahoo!

I'm having fun and LOVE seeing everyones finished products and what else everyone has been making. thanks!
