Do you follow the moda bakeshop?
I love their ideas.
Lately they've been sharing Q&A's and tips & tricks.
Did you know that you can use an eraser to clean the fuzz off your cutting mat? I had no idea! I have much less guilt over "destroying" my mom's last mat with our bottled rainbows quilt! All that batting made for a fuzzy mat!
They also posted about pre-washing fabric-how it can actually be problematic sometimes!
I don't prewash my fabrics anymore. Now I don't worry as much that I don't! My favorite washing trick is to use vinegar the first time you wash on cold to help it stay colorfast. It seems to work! :)
Any tips & tricks up your sleeve that you've learned along this journey?
ps-not a quilting question, but my almost seven year old has grown out of EVERY dress she owns this summer! any favorite patterns for fall/winter that I should make for her this winter?

The only helpful hint I have is to starch fabric before piecing a block together.
ReplyDeleteAs for patterns, have you looked at the new Oliver + S patterns? I like a lot of their dress patterns.
